It's pretty funny to think that, in his day, Kimmo was a pretty big deal on the internet. At his peak, a lot of 4chan were trying to fuck him up.
Wikipedia and some other random forums, IIRC, also knew of him. As a teen, I did a dank raid of Wikipedia where I pretended to be him and posted AT links on there to see what would happen, and the admin who banned me said that Wikipedia had seen "more than enough" Anontalk spam.

I'm not sure there's any specific reason why Minichan ended up doing better out of the two, but I think that FrankUsrs and his disastrous takeover of Tinychan was a big factor.

Sadly, the flame that burns twice as bright burns out twice as quickly, and Hindu guy was a goddamn supernova. In the end, r04r got tired of him spamming topics and made it so that all of his threads were automatically merged into one thread. Once that happened, as I recall, he pretty much stopped posting immediately.

But some of that was basically just lip-service, I think. There was still plenty of shitposting. Why, there's a bulletin from 2010 asking people to not derail threads with Matt schtick!

This was, of course, an excellent way to dunk on Kimmo. However, it did create a small problem. Occasionally, paedophiles who had posted on Anontalk would go that URL and end up here, mistakenly thinking that this website was a successor to Anontalk. Usually, I was told, the mods would just quietly ban them and that would be that. AT refugees have probably stopped being a thing by now, but it was sure disturbing at the time.
