TC's statistics page was cooler. You could see where you ranked in the all-time posters list. I cracked the top 50 just before the shut down and had the top 20 in my sights. Here there are no such goals to be set.

I load images often. imgur even with 250kb images can take longer to load on imgur. Multi-tasking work is tricky and often I start a reply and it may be 5 minutes before I can select the appropriate image for a reply. Waiting for it to load, ads to one more inconvenience. One advantage of r04r's most recent change allows me time - all the time I need to take on a reply. In the past there was a time out and even the issue of a message that other replies had been made. That is gone. Of course now I find and its often when I start a reply - Have work to do and decide to not reply and the new inconvenience of having to say YES I want to leave the page.

Yep, and to re-iterate since some people somehow miss this: the [upload] text next to the imgur text area can be used to upload any image on your computer to imgur, and then automatically attach that upload to your post. Imgur's thumbnailing (especially for gifs) is shit though.

If I have a gif and the file is small enough I always upload directly to MC. Re imgur fast - depends on the time of day. Sometimes a 750K file hangs and hangs for a long time. On occasion I just say fuck it and reduce the image file size and directly load it. TC accepted huge files and loaded quickly - Of course the last owner of that joint sperged out - then again towards the end I rarely used it.
Compromises its always a compromise - Now if only I could figure a way to make money going the compromise route.

What you did was change from the old modded version of r04r's software that Link used over to the newer and more featureful software Dalloway wrote, made some modifications to that, and coordinated stuff with Jan and Neo. The content may physically be under your control, but it's not rightfully your place to decide to can it. If you don't want to run the site anymore, that's perfectly fine, but you should transfer the ownership to someone else, not play God.

On TC you could hover the cursor over the thread title and see the beginning of whatever the thread was about, thus allowing you to avoid most of the unfunny shitposting. You can't do that on MC. At this time, it is pointed to the nameservers on tinychan.net, which is Frank's domain. Then, last fall, Frank changed his IRC handle from frank_usrs to emma_usrs. He didn't explain why immediately, but when someone called him Frank, he corrected them and came out as trans. At first I thought this was a troll so I went along with it, but after several days the name change had not reversed and it became apparent that this was serious. I didn't really know what to make of this because it came with no warning whatsoever. One night Emma was talking about trans stuff while On was in the channel and On made a joke comment about trannies and Emma got offended and kicked him from the channel. Several days passed and On didn't come back to IRC, but continued posting normally. Emma added him on Steam and he accepted, not knowing it was her. She messaged him a picture that was supposedly gore and he used that as an excuse to block her because he didn't want to deal with her if she was going to treat gender identity as an off-limits-to-jokes topic when she seemed to think it's ok to make fun of Minecraft and anime when two of her mods are big fans of anime and Minecraft. So On quit IRC, and that was pretty much it for awhile.
Over the winter, Emma changed all the static pages on TC to say Emma instead of Frank, but never publicly addressed the board to come out as trans. However the mods were expected to address her properly and explain when people misgendered her. This led to some confusion with people thinking TC had been sold quietly to someone else.
Around spring, Emma decided she wanted to try and patch things up with On, and made a thread using the name "Emma" and asking him to come back to IRC. On replied asking "What is your gender?" and instead of clarifying for everone what she was trans, Emma got upset and shut off the board, deregistered the IRC channel, and left the network. I asked Joseph for her Steam profile and added her, and convinced her to replace On with Joseph as a mod and delete the thread instead of shutting TC down. She agreed, and TC went back up for another 12 hours or so. When Joseph found out that On had been demodded and he was the replacement, he told Emma to remod On instead of him. Emma said fuck it and redirected TC to minichan for a short time and then switched it to tidus_laugh. I continued talking to Emma while also trying to give her time to distance herself from the emotions of what had happened, believing that she was still a reasonable person and I could eventually coax her to sell TC to someone.
The main problem was she wanted to just offload the domain and keep the site files to herself. Of course dave would claim that nothing of value would be lost, but to real tinycomrades, that's simply not true. I don't expect Minions to understand it, but underneath all the shitposting and "racism", TC was special to us. Emma tried to bargain with domain favors, but refused to give a price for what it would cost to buy the whole thing. The other problem was, the three people most capable of buying TC- On, Syntax, and Kook -were all on Emma's shitlist. Then the end of the semester came, and I was busy trying to make sure I didn't fail out of both my classes and didn't have time to be on Steam.
Then last week TC got redirected to some commie shit and Emma attempted to make some contributions to the Minichan code, and I realized Frank had gone full tumblr. @681914 (Emma) proved that it's impossible to reason with Frank because he actually thinks being a woman means being a thin-skinned, hairpin-triggered, whining control freak bitch. News flash Frank: being trans means your body doesn't represent you, it doesn't have anything to do with your personality and interests. Go play on tumblr with vocalon. As I currently understand it based on outside information not in your reply TC domain may not be for sale. I went out to dinner tonight came home checked mail and found mail from On and replied with what I have found. WHAT I Think is a good solution Domain wise Others can argue there are other ways and that is ok with me.
For those that are pissed at me in email - I wanted to stay Stealth on any help I could provide to move things along - However now that FuckAlms has pointed out that Joseph is close to Frank/Emma R/L it explains why strange things have happened re blocks to communications outside of Chan - That is not really a problem, because I can proxy or just use email with former TC mods to resolve what may needed to be resolved.
So to be upfront now because I refused to do this via email to friends of TC I do email with - And there may be others willing to do this or even and for sure there are those I do mail with who are willing to put in Cold Hard Cash to move things along.

I am not exactly rich (unless I were to state my wealthy the way Trump does) I am still trying to keep my head above water over the real cost of one failed condom ( $1 Million +) In theory I could even come out ahead on all of that in multiple ways, in the future - but currently that $1 Mill + is cash out of hand and remains so for unknown amount of time.
Like Trump I have invested in Real Estate which I really dislike as a Biz for me to be in - Its just that when Bank only pays 0% interest on savings or IRA accounts the only choice is to invest in Houses/Condos because here in SD County that stuff crashed in value a while back and could be bought on the cheep and rented/leased out and the value of what I bought has shot up like crazy.
Also I was forced by US laws to accept my Social Security a couple of years ago and its enough for a family of 3 to live on by itself - Engineers end up getting the Max allowed for a pay out without really trying.
I charge my clients an outrageous amount of money per hour for my work - This allows me to buy a bottle of Cognac or one of the many new Whiskeys - Just One bottle costs about as much as r04r pays for one years worth of MC service - based on her published numbers here on MC.
Nor do I feel good about being a possible Angel to cover a future TC clone cost because that ends up as Stigma - Over the years Mods of TC have deleted a few (very few) of my posts - I wood not want to end up being treated differently because I put money in - That's just NOT the kind of way I live my life. I may not care what people think of me on a silly chan net play but I do have to keep my own self respect.

I have made some terrific friends including R/L over the years via the Net. Not a lot but still they count. I have been caught up in takeovers because in the .com boom that happened so often. Then the crash and of course my fav place's to hang Hung up on me. Even a couple of times where people in a forum got together to help a gal out who was being abused. Got her away from abuser to someone that could help her out and we all paid for airfare - Other stories over the years.
One topic someone put up was about where was the most unique place you have made love - I posted a couple of examples - One was elevator of Century city hotel with emerg stop button hit and ALARMS going off - Firedept called and police LoL - We did not start up that elevator until it was time to bring it down - A gal in forum says Hey I want to do that with you in same Hotel
I said lets first meet for coffee in that hotel - Shocking how beyond lovely she was - Nor did I decide to do that deed - reason for another time - I traveled out of town on business and met net people in R/T for dinner - bert will remember one very foxy gal everyone was fighting for a meetup - Me I was in a relationship at the time Yet she was on a trip to my old home town so we had dinner

With many a trip to Russia for work and living there for up to 6 months at a time - I could have but did not connect up with anyone from the net. I was did set up a date with a gal for dinner I met on a forum months before and just days before that date Headlines all over Russia and in USA about a Qualcomm employee being arrested for espionage - From that moment on I kept a super low profile - All Globalstar stuff in Russia is located in former KGB and still very active Russian spy guy operations. So I cancelled that date. I figured from that point on that all Qualcomm people in Russia were being watched constantly - Cannot say I actually saw them watching. I was did set up a date with a gal for dinner I met on a forum months before and just days before that date Headlines all over Russia and in USA about a Qualcomm employee being arrested for espionage - From that moment on I kept a super low profile - All Globalstar stuff in Russia is located in former KGB and still very active Russian spy guy operations. So I cancelled that date. I figured from that point on that all Qualcomm people in Russia were being watched constantly - Cannot say I actually saw them watching.
