Moscow is like the Paris of the East! Amazing. I woke up early from jet lag and took a morning walk around Red Square, then had a lovely tea service at a classic old restaurant. I brushed up a bit on my Russian, but the people are very kind and always help me out with the language. Today's plans are to see the sites!

You called me #1 yesterday. Does this mean the chuckle brothers get shuffled around in your head daily? Is the rent still free?

I was more amused by the summery weather and lovely green leaves on all the trees. Moscow's buried under snow right now and the trees have been skeletal since November.

Whoever it is will be arrested and shipped off to a filthy Siberian labour camp the second he tries to enter Norilsk, whereupon he will find himself wallowing in faeces and surrounded by the dregs of society. Pedophiles, alcoholics, convicted fraudsters, you name it. I hope he's prepared for that!

I can't wait until Matt's Throckmorton's saga begins where he's on the run from the Russian army. Or he's been captured and is being held hostage and has somehow managed to sneak his cellphone into the hostage area with him.

Where he will meet up with Syntax and they together will connect to one of the spy satellites contacting Washington who in turn will send in the Navy Seals to rescue them both, bringing them back to America safely. A ticker tape parade held for both in their respective cities of Lafayette La. and San Marcos Ca. welcoming home their hero's return.

We haven't heard anything. They must be in a bad service area.

What's so amusing about this beautiful summer picture he's posted is that Moscow is currently in the grip of its heaviest snowfall in a generation...

It's night here. I had a wonderful Russian dinner. Going to bed to wake up early tomorrow! Moscow is a wonderful place! Also, I am touring Moscow, not sitting in my hotel room day and night posting on Minchan. Good evening!

What is your response to posting a picture you found on Google, and that picture was done during the warmer months?
> Father Merrin, where are you located? Perhaps we could go for a drink of vodka or dinner?
You're about to fraudently enter a closed Russian military weapons site to carry out "a few months of research" during a time of war. It's best I'm not seen with you in case you're caught. I could be implicated.

Again, the organization I am with has approval. Now, do you drink vodka? I found a really nice place here in Moscow. Drinks on me.

I'm not. End of discussion. @previous (Father Dave !RsSxeehGwc)
I did not say that as you said it. We have official approval. The organization did so using traditional Russian culture and methods. You know very well (if you really live there) how that stuff works.
> The organization did so using traditional Russian culture
"My American organisation used traditional Russian culture to obtain a category A Russian military clearance to carry out a few months of research at a top secret weapons site that even 99% of Russian State Duma Senators cannot currently visit".
You're not fooling me, Mr CIA. You're trying to implicate me in a crime and I'm having no part of it. Udachi vam i sladkix snov.
> It's pure academic research, and it makes Russia look good, hence the approval.

04:15am in Moscow (a far more reasonable 19:15pm in Louisiana) when you posted this. What happened to going to bed 4 hours ago so you can get an early start tomorrow morning?

Looks like I managed to get you extremely riled up with just one casually irritating comment this time. :)

Well, this is my last day in Moscow! Today, I'm going to have a nice, long walk around the city. I plan on eating at a hole in the wall that locals tell me is simply the best. Then, some local people invited me to drink vodka at a bar tonight. Tomorrow, I get on the train to Norilsk in the late morning. I'm set to meet some administrators there, who will show me where I'll be staying during my time there, and then, they will take me around and show me where I'll be doing my research. This is exciting! I'll keep you updated! For now, I'm off to lunch!
