No. Complete stranger, trapped in a car wreck, crying out for help, smell of gasoline in the air. Nobody else in the vicinity who can help.

One time I saw a hit and run and I cradled the guy while he was agonal breathing and then he died a couple of minutes after ems started working on him. He had giant horizontal chunks out of his forehead

It's irritating to me when people like Op haven't been in a lot of dangerous situations and haven't been around a lot of dead bodies, but they try to predict how they would react

If you could smash the window/windscreen with a brick and drag the kid out to safety, would you take the risk of the gasoline igniting while you were reaching into the car?

You did the right thing. Based on that alone, I'd say you'd have the courage to face a life threatening situation like the one described above.

@previous (A) > Car crash, parents killed, child crying out for help, flames coming from under hood of car, smell of gasoline in the air, potential for flash explosion. Nobody else in the vicinity who can help.

Again, yes. As I said, most people would do whatever they could. I seriously doubt you could walk away from a child crying out for help no matter how dangerous the situation.
