But the US is 39th in tests per 1M people. Who sees being 39th as a badge of honour? ?

> the US as 16th globally in terms of tests per 1,000 people, ahead of South Korea, but behind the likes of Iceland, New Zealand, Russia and Canada.

Per capita is what matters.

How the fuck can a country be 16th in tests per thousand people and 39th in tests per 1,000,000 people????? ???

I suppose next you'll be telling me America is 16th in population density when you measure by people per square mile but 39th in population density when you measure by people per square kilometer ?

Not sure you understand the point. Trump is arguing that more cases looks good because it means more testing. He is ignoring the fact that more cases is objectively bad.

My statistic includes non-self-governing territories like The Falklands, Gibraltar, and various other small territories that are all superior to the US. ??

But it's more recorded cases vs actual new cases. A country that tests less, will have less cases on paper. Know what I mean?

Well then we should have never tested anyone and then we'd have no Chinese Flu cases. Would that make you happy?

You know your country is in a good state when you have to ask: "Are we 16th or 39th?"

?

I'm not the one who thinks tests per thousand produces a different ranking than tests per million ?

I'm glad the US education system, if nothing else, has given you an appreciation for the difference between 1,000 and 1,000,000. It'll help you count your dead countrymen. ?

I don't know what source tteh used. Perhaps they are from different dates. Either way, it's a shit ranking. It's also weird that you think that because we are both leftists we must be acting on exactly the same information at all times and are some kind of hivemind.

But is that something necessarily worth celebrating? It's like inventing a new herpes test and discovering you've got the worst case of herpes known to mankind so far... huzzah?

I will support more testing 10%
And by doing these tests, they are finding out that way more people are infected but asymptomatic. So that means the virus' lethality is lower than previously thought!
Huzzah!

True. But only if the virus isn't well-contained. But my assertion is that the US isn't actually doing that much testing per capita.

But we are steadily increasing the number of tests. In my area, they have converted a baseball stadium into a testing site and have already tested like 700 people

And that's good, but the US is still lagging behind in terms of testing.
