Oh, that's kinda interesting. Didn't know that beers that strong existed. The strongest one I've seen, McEwan's Champion Ale, is only 7.3%. A nice beer, I get it sometimes.

I'd probably try one of those strong beers once for a laugh, but I'm not sure I'd regularly drink something like that.

A local brewery Unibroue has a selection of 9% beers. Quite good.

Yeah Unibroue's a Quebec brewery. All their beers are really good! There's another brewery up north, st pancrace i think, that has a beer made with crab. It's a little salty. Quebec has a great beer culture :>

Extra strong beers (up to like 10%) are pretty common here but considered trashy

This was a mildly Bertlike post tbh.

But no, I don't think higher ABV beers are very common here. Not in like supermarkets or pubs, anyway. I'd like it if they were, though, I like stuff around the 10% range, you can have a fun time with it.

Crab beer? Now that's interesting. I have a shellfish allergy, though. Makes me go all red and itchy and lightheaded, so I think I'll have to give it a miss.

Morphine used to do that to me sometimes.

Perhaps an allergy pill could help? I despise seafood but the crab beer was good. Quebec is a grate place to be for a beer aficionado.

I just drink a whole bottle of red and then chase it down with a six pack of budweiser
