So why aren't they isolating? Why doesn't Trump insist on video conferencing?

Despite having access to the best resources, the current administration is clearly careless enough to infect themselves by ignoring every worthwhile opinion offered to them.

The "liberals" or the "deep state" are basically a narrative device used to explain any shortcoming of the current administration. They are the conveniently unknown force behind every mistake or calamity. They are always there to blame and point the finger at, but never visible enough to actually point to as the provable source for anything. They are somehow everywhere and nowhere. Not powerful enough to actually be in power, but mysteriously all powerful and pulling strings behind the scenes whenever blame needs to be assigned.

Ugh. Maybe just grow up and stop making up stories about fairy tale villains to avoid placing the blame where it clearly belongs. You don't need nebulous, shadowy bad guys to explain the kind of run-of-the-mill stupidity on display at the White House.

Valid political point, Bert. I don't know why anyone even bothers trying to take you on.
