Topic: We need more stimulus checks?

Anonymous A started this discussion 5 years ago #99,569

Externally hosted imageI absolutely do feel we need another round of assistance. But why in the fuck does the House decide that kids 16 and 17 years old should get the $2000 each month along with the adults, in the proposed Bill? That's totally stupid.

You have this weird tendency to say you deserve a stimulus check but nobody else does. I don't get it. If it was a "pure" coronavirus stimulus check, like you've said you wanted, you wouldn't get one because you have been unemployed since before the pandemic.

You complain that Democrats keep adding in provisions so more people will get stimulus checks. People who you don't think deserve the checks. Like those University students who are now without their summer jobs and internships.

I don't have a strong feeling either way about it.
Some families do depend on their 16- and 17- year olds bringing in income. Other 16- and 17-year olds do not live with their families. Either way, you receive government money and don't pay taxes so it doesn't affect you if they receive it.

Maybe a small percentage of them are

We are talking millions of 16 and 17 year olds potentially getting $2000 a month for 3-6 months.

I think its foolish to give millions of families with two parents and three kids who live at home who are in high school $8,000 a month for six months in stim checks...and then give a married couple $4000 a month for 6 months with no children.
Your opinion?

$12,000 for the two parents a month PLUS-
SIX THOUSAND a month extra for THREE 16 year old kids...times 6 months???
THIRTY SIX THOUSAND DOLLARS FOR THE THREE 16 YEAR OLDS???

That's 48,000 THOUSAND DOLLARS FOR SIX MONTHS.

Nope, it’s never going to be an issue ever. The national debt is meaningless. As long as currency is fiat and bonds continue to get issued and paid out nothing bad will ever happen because of it.
