Recycling is a scam. They just dump all that shit in the landfill anyway ?

I like recycling everything I can. Fill up jars/tins/bottles etc with washing up liquid and water, allow it to soak and rinse it. Toss it into the recycling and you can feel good knowing you're helping the planet B)

If that's what happens in your city, that's fucked up.

There's one extra trick you might want to try. Because of the way recycling centers work, small items like nails, screws, and most bottle caps will often fall through the spaces in between conveyor belts at the recycling facility, and not get recycled. Something you can do to avoid it its this: take and empty aluminum can, like a soda can or a can of beans, and fill it with your small metal scraps, like metal bottle caps, bent nails or bits of broken equipment. When it's almost full, use a plier to close in the top so that it's essentially sealed shut. Now when it gets recycled, it will not fall through the grates, and thus your small scrap metal which would other wise have ended up in the trash will get recycled!
Another tip is that if you have an empty water bottle, milk carton or anything with a plastic cap, the cap might not be made of recyclable plastic. However, since there's really no way of knowing, you should always recycle them- but of course they will encounter the same problem mentioned above. The solution is rather obvious - leave the cap on! It will be removed manually, and recycled if it can be.
Last note: if you have something that you want to recycle but it's less than an inch wide, don't loosely put it in your recycling bin, because it can cause damage to the recycling facility's equipment if it falls through the holes in the conveyor. Try to find some other way to recycle it, or just throw it away if you have to.

I have no way of easily verifying, but I've heard from multiple people that this is what the biggest trash pickup company in my area does. People like to spread rumors so it may not be true, but I'm sure it happens in some places.

It's not worth it to recycle most stuff.

We can turn the Grand Canyon into a landfill. It's already pre-dug ?

This would actually work very well!? If we diverted the Colorado river, or fully sealed the Meteor Crater, they would both work as wonderful landfills!? Unfortunately, they are considered "historic natural landmarks".? Can you believe people really care about preserving some big holes in the ground? It's so silly! ???
