Yeah but if some leader of a country we aren't on good terms with tried to stay in office our government would definitely have things to say on the issue.

I haven't done research, but I remember hearing how doomed the rainforest is since his election. I figure it's more like some grand infrastructure for farming and logging industry that neglects the people living there and the world ecosystem. But like I said, I haven't done much research on his corruption.
