Topic: How do you get less cults and fringe religious groups in America?

State sponsored religions. You get the proper organizations doing the proper social gatherings.

What makes you think that state sponsored religion in the US would be any less crazy? We'd just have Jerry Falwell Jr. leading the nation in prayer or something.

I don't know who that is but I bet he's crazy lol.

It's tricky in America and so it would take some time for things to work. I'm not trying to sound evil or stupid here, I'm just going to say that you gotta get them while they are young, sounds fucked up but it's really not, our parents made us learn the difference between right and wrong when we were young and in the same way we ought to teach our children about the religious heritage we have. So with early indoctrination into the correct proper versions of religions, you have something like immunity against cults and fringe groups. How to do these early indoctrinations? Public schools.

America is not a religiously homogenous country. Leaving aside the unconstitutionality of it, what would you do, force everyone to be some kind of bland Protestant Christian? We've got so many of different kinds of those to choose from plus a large portion of Catholics, Jews, Muslims, Hindus, etc. There really isn't a way to do that I don't think.

The reasons you have doubts about it working in America is exactly my own reasons for thinking it would work extremely well. Because American ain't a religious homogeneous society, it would mean that whatever version would be in public schools would have to be a version that could coexist with the others. It is my experience that those who love children and want to teach them, they are the agreeable type and shun conflict. So with some extremely difficult but achievable arrangements, we can have all types of religions that can be inside public schools and indoctrinate the children, EVEN BETTER THOUGH is that alongside the religious indoctrination is a secret indoctrination which is the rules and ethics of a state requirement that demands tolerance of other religions and respect for liberty and rights.

So you can think of it like a bargain. The state will pay your priests, build the schools, collect the taxes and officially approve of it. The price is that it must coexist with other religions and it must respect liberty and rights.
