Topic: Almost burned my home down to the ground because of a fucking spoon

Electric Kettle has a button that goes down once the water is warm enough, there was a spoon under it. Kettle wouldn't stop heating because the button couldn't go down.

It's not a British Kettle, so no whistling is involved

Upgrade to a proper British and Irish whistling kettle immediately

Right, need a whistling kettle so you don't burn the milk for your tea.

I've never seen a kettle with a switch that goes down when done. Normally you flip the switch down, and it pops up. ?
