Topic: Have you ever been to a dentist and felt it be worth it?

Anonymous A started this discussion 5 years ago #99,227

Since I started taking my vitamin d, I haven't had any pain but I still have like 3 cavities that are deep, like way deep into the root. On the other hand, having a stranger up close and personal, with his hands in my mouth? It's a dilemma.

Go. The longer you wait the worse your teeth will get and the more drastic, painful, and expensive the dental care will be. My teeth suck, take it from me.

What if instead I get all my teeth gone somehow and just get those gramgram teeths instead? That probably won't be so expensive and won't require a long time in the chair at all.

Leaving the dentist with a pain pill script is a happy moment.

Routine appointments are suspended here and I actually want to go for a checkup :(

No way I would get that though. The only way you get them here is if one of your limbs recently got bitten off by a dinosaur.

Honestly I've been wanting to pull all my teeth and get all-on-four or all-on-six implants (they're like dentures except permanently implanted)

I have a good dentist who is good with anaesthetic and I don't want to keep putting off fixing a potential cavity and needing more severe dental treatment like root canals or something. I'll stick with a filling.

I've been wondering if there's a limit to how many fillings you can get on a tooth. Like if you keep getting cavities and keep getting them filled. At some point is there an issue?

Root canals are a scam. They severely weaken the tooth and it inevitably breaks several years later.

Come on now, you need to... Aspire, a bit. Maybe you just need to look out for a... Sign? ?

I guess brushing them with cups of tea is a traditionally accepted method

didn't they invent a coating that they simply paint onto the tooth surface to prevent cavities in the first place? it would wear down, but you'd get that topped up from time to time.

at some point, it's no longer a filling but a structure called a crown.

I do. I was heavily depressed when I was young and neglected self-care.

Remember caps?
Do they still do that?

Sheila LaBoof replied with this 5 years ago, 59 minutes later, 1 day after the original post[^] [v] #1,120,315

from what I read, the dentits (misspelling kept because I like it) refer to caps as crowns. There is a distinction between temporary removable ones that they tap on after some surface removal versus the permanent ones that are specially shaped and made elsewhere that you get later.
