Topic: Is there zero possibility that coronavirus ain't something like hiv?

I'm very worried that in a nightmare scenario, we'll suddenly see a lot of people dying in China and it turns out its some prolonged after effects of the coronavirus. I only have this worry because they don't know this virus fully and it seems people who have recovered seem to still test positive sometimes although they say that's probably just dead virus in the blood.

That's how antibodies work. Hep C is the same, if you've ever had it you'll always test positive.

Really? The antibodies are in the blood forever? Still i think they wouldn't say they tested positive again if they were really just testing for antibodies.

Yes. A second test is performed to determine whether it's just antibodies or actually the virus. So presumably this test is more difficult or expensive.

If so we'll have to rename it from the Wuhan Flu to Asian AIDS ?
