He appeared to be covered in pans, I think. My memory from years earlier was that he was covered in garbage. Well, it is supposed to be an urban inner city poor black looking version of Wizard of Oz and I had my assumptions I suppose.

So, the wizard is a pimp, Dorothy is a whore, and scarecrow is a crack head? How do they address the "urban" flying monkeys? Are they just regular black people that can fly?

well you know I looked up the wiki, and it turns out it's the scarecrow that's made out of "garbage and rags". His costume is really unappealing. He also has a dark dog-like nose for no reason that I can tell. Anyway, through the work on the movie, music producer Quincy Jones was impressed with Michael Jackson (the scarecrow) and went on to produce Off the Wall, Thriller, and Bad albums.
