I had a really quiet day. Went for a walk with my dog and stayed away from everyone. Was a bit shocked at how many people were getting close to each other.

It was Okay. Got some packages, drank some beer. Waiting on my sister to come pick up my nephew's birthday present, and my mom to bring me some stew.

I worked a lot remotely. I'm about to install the 8GB of RAM that arrived for my new laptop to bring it up to a nice 16GB of RAM ?? I need to have 16 gigs because my desktop has 16 gigs and I need to make my laptop better than my desktop to rationalize the stupid amount of money I spent on it. With this upgrade my laptop is now objectively better in every way than my desktop (though they both have 16GB RAM, the desktop is using 2400MHz DDR4 and the laptop is using 2666MHz so that's slightly better).
I bought the very cheapest 8GB DDR4 2666Mhz one I could find on Amazon from an off-brand I never heard of before (Team Group Elite from Taiwan), which will surely work out well and not lead to a lot of problems down the road.

So is RAM like a cut of meat? You can have different qualities?

Obviously meta thinks of everything in a culinary sense.

Yeah. The main difference is different speeds. There is also Registered RAM and ECC RAM but that's mainly for servers and doesn't matter for personal computers, If you mix speeds (ie one stick of 2400MHz and one stick of 2666MHz), the system will run both sticks of RAM at the slower speed so that's important to keep in mind if you add more RAM to your existing RAM - check the speed of what you already have and buy that speed. You can overclock RAM like a CPU if your motherboard supports it but it's tricky and you run the risk of stability issues. Not really worth it imo.
RAM speed is kind of misleading because it's actually clocked at half the advertised speed. "2666MHz RAM" is actually 1333MHz but it transfers data twice per clock signal (Dual Data Rate - this is the "DDR" in DDR4 RAM) so the real speed is 1333MHz but the effective speed is 2666MHz. This is true for all DDR RAM speeds. The correct unit is actually MT/s (million transfers per second) but for some reason this gets changed to megahertz in marketing which is the wrong unit. So 2666MHz DDR4 RAM is actually 1333MHz providing 2666MT/s. One total retard on Amazon gave this RAM a 1-star review for "false advertising" for the RAM being clocked at 1333MHz instead of 2666MHz which is entirely wrong and a total failure to understand how RAM actually works.
There are really only three companies that make actual RAM chips: SK Hynix, Samsung, and Micron. If you buy RAM from any other brand (like Kingston or Corsair or Team Group Elite or whatever), it has chips from one of those three. It's kind of like graphics cards where Nvidia and AMD make the actual GPU itself then other companies put the GPU together with all the other junk needed to make to make a graphics card.

Nice, I was thinking about building a new desktop PC for Half Life Alyx but it’s a bit out of my budget right now .

Bloody joggers never stay 2 metres away from people and try to get as close as they can.

I just fucked a mexican girl with my mexican friend he invited me to his house cuz you know, a little thing called hospitality. I fucked one of his mexican girlfriends pretty much switching places to do a line and we just sort of traded holes. I am black by the way if that matters, I do this shit regularly with white girls who want easy drug connection so I just throw a bitch down but mexican girls they bump more. It is completely painless to me to just invite a bro over and have him fuck one cuz you know, hospitality and shit.
