The 1911 is the astute gentleman's classic warfighter dress pistol. It can also be daily carried in a lavishly expensive leather manpurse. It's old money.

"Dress pistol" is correct. It is merely for show in a parade with formal uniform on. On the tough streets, you need something that performs, like a Walther PPQ.

The M1911 was also a service pistol, the primary one issued in WWI and II. Some countries still use it as a service pistol to this day, you literal retard. The .45 ACP rounds it shoots will do a lot more damage than your pea shooter.

I was never anti-gun. I have always been ok with non-criminal citizens owning guns that are locked up in the house, separate and apart from the ammunition, as the Swiss do.
