For instance, to really grasp the awfulness of lynching (typically mob murder by hanging of black men by white men), a not-too-tight loop of rope could be place around the neck of a student wearing a VR set. The student can live first-person recreations of being awakened in the night, tugged out of home, and strung up in a tree while a computer-controlled motor lifts the rope until it loses its slack. Also, I have an idea for a series on lawful execution methods currently in use.

Another idea is to experience being dragged behind a truck or perhaps a horse, with the aid of a large treadmill. It does not have to run at a dangerous speed, as the VR image will provide the brain with the idea that the dragging is happening very fast at some point.
