Funny thing about these questions from Ducky to Syntax. I actually asked him (anon, or else I'd have got a Wiki entry about the Catholic Church) why he does things like this. He responded by posting a bunch of quotes by famous people (including Sir Isaac Newton) about the value of curiosity. I tried to point out to him that those scientists and writers were talking about the importance of intellectual inquiry and the human thirst for knowledge about how and why we came to be. They weren't talking about looking up the work address of a young girl's father in order to find out his salary, or researching funeral guest lists in order to find information about someone's possible distant relatives.
It was completely lost on him. He truly doesn't see that what he does is extraordinarily weird.

Right, but why would he start stalking Ducky's father (and apparently he's been doing that for years, since he first met her)? He has no spite towards her as far as I know. I think it's more than just spite. He doesn't seem able to separate the internet world from his real world. I honestly believe he doesn't understand why Ducky was freaked out by him uncovering highly personal information on her father and then posting it publicly.
