Topic: Why in hell do I like tomato sauce with parmisan and bread so much?

Anonymous A started this discussion 6 years ago #98,952

I go through a can of tomato sauce in one day easily by just putting parmisan flakes on it and using it as dip for pizza bread. It is so delicious. Maybe this is subconscious solidarity with the italians or something idk.

Bread sticks with Parmesan cheese and tomato sauce are actually an addictive drug. The Olive Garden knows this and uses the promise of unlimited bread sticks to effectively to draw people into their restaurants.

Nah. A link to psychic knowledge or past life memory would probably grant you the ability to spell 'Parmesan' correctly.

Carbs cause diabetes.

The way I understand it, it's carbs all day long that really does it.

Sorry. That's an unfortunate side effect of my bread stick abuse.

Maybe you can sue and they'll be forced to put warnings on their bread sticks, like with cigarettes.

I wouldn't want to do anything to stand in the way of people enjoying unlimited bread sticks.

That particular combination has a lot of umami and you must crave it similar to a sweet tooth

I used to eat cheesy breadsticks dipped in pasta sauce a lot as a snack. My roommate hated it, said the smell made her nauseous.

That makes sense then, together with the unami theory that kl proposed. I used to drink soy sauce as a kid.

Once i consumed so much soy sauce i threw up. I poured a bit onto a saucer and would dip my finger in it and lick my finger. I was drinking beer at the same time so I think the dehydration effect made me puke.

living alone for the first time, i learned that marinara sauce from domino's gives me heartburn the next day as opposed to pizza hut

Sometimes when I want it, it seems like nothing in the house has umami. And I go nuts trying to replicate that satisfaction
