LOL Poor Ben Shapiro. He really wants to support these lockdown protesters and show solidarity with their message. But the protesters keep doing stupid shit that Ben doesn't want to have to defend on Twitter.

While I'm sure this seemed like a cunning plan to make Fake anon take issue with standard anti-viral measures, I suspect that his reasoning is deeper than "a conservative commentator said it, therefore I must disagree".

I think Ben is wasting his time, anyway. A lot of these protesters, I think, are taking the position that the coronavirus is greatly over-hyped, while the more extreme ones seem to think it's a conspiracy to repeal citizen rights (or something like that). I really doubt they're inclined to be too rigorous about protecting themselves when a part of their position is "the virus isn't so bad".

Also, I made a brief trip to /pol/ last night, just to get an impression of what the hardcore right thinks about the protests. A lot of them were onboard with them, as expected, but someone made quite a funny satirical post. It basically said that paranoid preppers, who you'd think might be amongst the best-suited to self-isolating, had evidently been some of the first to break under lockdown and are now out foolishly helping the virus. Gave me a good chuckle.

I'm also anti-lockdown. The damage to the econamy will kill more people than this virus. Boomers have had it good for too long and TBH I don't care if a bunch or obese minorities die

I thought your mother has it. Do you care if she dies?

Source???

I think people protesting this shit are incredibly stupid and self-centered and irresponsible so coming up with "clever" ways they could be protesting "responsibly" or whatever is inherently a self-defeating project.

So, to walk you through this:

You are "anti-lockdown" because you don't care if minorities die. But there is nothing in this virus that targets minorities. As you saw, it also infected your mother. So your anti-lockdown stance is as dangerous to people you care about as it is to those you don't.

Is that too complex for you, Adolf? Do you start to see the idiocy of your edgy fascism that you should have outgrown in your mid teens?

I have seen some interesting photos of anti-lockdown protestors wearing PPE, sometimes head-to-toe.

The guy in this picture is fun. It's probably worth noting that some of the "protests" aren't really more than COVID-19 themed Trump rallies. Something tells me that if I wanted to join their protest with a Bernie sign that some guy would take a break from yelling about his freedom of assembly to tell me I couldn't "protest" there. Maybe I could get bear maced while some dude hit me with his free speech sign or whatever. That would be funny at least.

It's like a handful of people are frustrated with the lockdowns and think getting together to tote around signs and repeat political slogans is somehow going to make the problem go away.

That was from the protest in Huntington Beach, CA which had almost as many people show up as the city has confirmed cases of COVID-19. Granted, a lot of the protesters came from neighboring cities or drove in from Los Angeles or Riverside counties to show up there. It wasn't exactly an organic, grassroots movement comprised of locals.

Thank you for coming up with the pictures. It's fucking crazy that anti-lockdown protests have been astroturfed exclusively in blue states and it traces back to DeVos. I can't even really express how fucked that is.
