Children with ASD really need routine and familiarity. It might not be healthy food but as the mother said, MacDonald's always looks, smells and is presented the same way. She didn't insinuate that this is what they eat every day of the week. It would be a nightmare to see their routine changed. They would have a really hard time coping with that. It would really upset them having life change so abruptly. It's upsetting enough for atypical people.
