Because the climate there is cold and shitty so they can’t farm much there. They have to import stuff in from the USA and Mexico and the stuff they do produce has a higher cost due to the shitty freezing temperatures. Also, the Canadian dollar is weak.

We also have cardboard cartons available in addition to the bags. Not sure if we have the plastic jugs, we did out west. Idk I don't consume milk so i don't pay attention.

Once upon a time...men would drive up to a house and set a wooden tray of pint sized glass jars/bottles of milk on your porch once a week.
They were called Milkmen.

I used to have one of those wooden trays up to a few years ago but it got lost in a move.

Why would you do that? If you cut them open, then they don't hold liquid anymore.

I would recommend drinking or otherwise perusing the liquid first

Places that recycle them generally shred the cartons as part of the process. You shouldn't have to shred them yourself. The recycling center will take care of that.

Dream works has never seen a milk carton before the concept of one is just blowing his mind. We had orange juice, apple, chocolate milk cartons too when I was a kid in school imagine how freaked out he would be that in the USA we put liquids in paper products
