So, as many know, about a year back I was a fairly regular poster on Tinychan, as were most of us at one time or another. And while there, Namefag and Syntax would make endless posts and threads about "that Pedo" George Pell, and would ask why I wasn't condemning him.
My answer was always the same: let's allow the legal process to run its course before throwing the "pedo" label around, shall we? If he's guilty, he can face as much condemnation as you wish, but let's remember that most of us still live in an 'innocent until proven guilty' world, no matter how de rigueur is to attack the Catholic Church these days.
Well, yesterday Pell was freed, his conviction unanimously overturned by Australia's High Court:

15 minutes ago I made a thread on Tinychan pointing this out. I also linked to the dozen or so threads on there where Namefag was calling me and every other Catholic a "pedo scum" for not condemning Pell (a year before he was even brought before the courts!).
You can guess what happened 5 minutes later. My thread was deleted, as - conveniently - were the posts by him on the other threads I had linked to, and I have been banned. You get that? For posting a fact and nothing more, I have been banned. He also sent me a charming personal message calling me a "retard" and laughing that he was banning me. No explanation of why he'd deleted my thread. Just..."you're a retard" and a 'LOL'.
I mention this just in case anyone is ever perplexed by why that forum has all-but died as a place to post normal stuff. Pages and pages of "LOL Catholics like George Pell are nonces!" - fine. Yet one thread posting actual information that he's been found innocent - immediately deleted and the person who posted it banned.
Well Namefag, I know you read this place religiously, and guess what - you can't delete this :)
Note to everybody: in these post-truth, "alternate facts" world of ours, try to remember that words matter, and a person is innocent until proven guilty no matter how socially acceptable it may have become to demonise their 'group'. It is not "nonce enabling" to ask that we wait until a person has had the chance of a full and fair trial before deciding they are "scum" who "should be f*cking killed".

Meh. Pell did have a trial. Two in fact. He was found guilty unanimously by a judge and jury. An appeals court upheld that verdict. You still defended him.
The Australian high court overturned that. Great. Good for him. I guess he goes free.
The thing is... You have been ever faithful to the cause of his innocence. Even after he was convicted. Even after that was upheld. That's noble and all. It just really sounds like you are working from foregone conclusion to the necessary premises rather than the other way around. I don't hear the tones of someone who sounds like they might admit that they were wrong.
You rushed to defend Pell at every opportunity. I'm sure plenty of people get pushed through the Australian justice system without so much as a mention. You certainly don't seem interested in criminal justice reform, for someone who was understandably appalled at how far an innocent man's case could go, as you should be. So pardon me for thinking you have self-serving motives in defending what is unfolding as an international ring for coddling pedophiles. It's a little weird, man.
I'm all for assuming people innocent, but you only seem to be for assuming Catholic priests innocent. Really, if you have such feelings about the innocent being accused, then why aren't you constantly posting about anything else? Why aren't you fighting for the rights of the innocent? I haven't heard a peep from you about any other case where someone was unjustly accused. It just seems like an odd conflict of interest on your part.
I really don't know enough about the Australian legal system to criticize the case. I don't really know the case well enough to comment on Pell's guilt or innocence, so I don't want to come off like I'm assuming his guilt. I'm guessing you're in the same boat though. It sounds like the high court just nullified the decisions made by a jury because... umm... the jury didn't know how to jury? That's seven people in a country of 25 million people who decided that they knew better than the entire legal system. Granted, they are learned people. That's why they are on the High Court. But really? Where did all that doubt you had in the legal system before go? Why are you so sure, after all the court cases, that this is justice? Why are you so sure this means innocence, in a real-world-not-judgment-of-man kind of way, that you would celebrate it. Isn't it for God to judge? In the long run, if he is to receive some reward for his sufferings in eternity, isn't this earthly realm immaterial?

It is very likely they are trying to cut back on the number of times the words 'pedo' or 'pedophile' or 'pedophilia' or 'nonce' etc. get mentioned, simply to reduce the number of search hits they get, linking the website to that subject. It isn't a moral issue, it's a technical one. Although really it's a bit late for that. Thanks to posters like you, it's pretty much all they talk about on TC these days. Ruined.

Ducky is still delusional about MC being somehow worse than TC. Of course, that attracts creepers like Symtax and Bart. Funny thing about Eco being there, is that he swore he would never return, for being unappreciated at TC. He was the most active user until Symtax was banned. I don't think she even was banned from here? The way I remember it, she posted here briefly a while ago and then just sort of stormed off.
