Hypothetically a hit on anyone in the world besides leaders of countries (lets just leave them out of this)can be contracted for death for a million USD.
Any poster on this board could easily disappear for what, maybe $5,000? (in no way a threat by me)

I'd be wary of hiring one. It's like that old saying "if she'll cheat with you she'll cheat on you". Hiring someone to kill for you, they may just decide to kill you and take your money.

If a certain someone were still here there'd be a 17 paragraph wall of text right now detailing the time the CIA asked him to take out Ayatollah Khomeini.

If you live in Colombia maybe! But the idea of dark web assassins is pretty much a myth. The chap who ran Silk Road, Ross William Ulbricht, tried to hire an 'assassin' (you'd think he might know better) and it's a fun read.

So because a goof got goofed, that emphatically proves there are no assassins to be contacted via the Dark web. Brilliant analysis.

Ulbricht was just an interesting aside.
There's never been any evidence of genuine assassins or assassination markets on Tor, I2P or anywhere else — the only high-profile cases were undercover stings, and Ulbricht. The single Tor hidden service that's still cited as "evidence" (including by ostensibly reputable news organisations!) was C'thulhu, a website that existed solely to scam dolts out of BTC.
I remember joking about this with r04r a decade ago. Nothing ever changes.

Isn't that part of the whole appeal of utilizing the 'dark web' for acquisition of illicit goods and services? Isn't the premise of the set up primarily the way it is to keep nosey people unaware of a person's business.
Therefore wouldnt it then be expected that almost nobody would easily see evidence?

You'd think. That's certainly the idea, but in reality there hasn't been a single longstanding darknet market: SilkRoad, SR2™, AlphaBay, Atlantis, Dream, Evolution, and countless more. Any market that hasn't ended in an exit scam (the owners steal all crypto in escrow and abandon ship) has ended with the authorities taking it down (which doesn't tend to bode well for vendors and admins).
Time and time again these forums and markets are compromised, and time and time again the only evidence that emerges is that people are suckers, happily donating thousands of dollars in BTC to scammers to have their neighbour murdered for whatever inane reason.
Still, it's a neat idea that there's a cool, hidden part of the Internet where you can throw money at somebody to kill for you, so the idea persists. ?

But isn't every single type of marketplace in the world inundated to some degree with scammers and fraud?
Does that aspect make every single one of them illegitimate and totally bogus...or is that only true of the 'dark web'?
