Sure. State-sponsored online trolls and agitators are a big thing in certain countries. It's not just bots, either. There's actual humans whose job it is to push agendas online:

Don't get too hung up on the title, it's not really an anti-Trump article. It talks about online agitators from a variety of countries and what their objectives are. Interesting stuff.

You know, isn't Matt a teacher in China? I'm terribly bad at keeping track of those things but if he is then it is very suspicious because KL's article did mention the 50 cent army being mostly civil servants
