I knew someone who was in jail at the same time as him and promised to tell everyone that he was hurting animals. no idea if he went through with it but i hope the motherfucker got some shit for that. I'm just so mad at myself for not putting it together until later, it's so obvious in hindsight. im so proud of my kitty. he almost died and he's still his little sassy cuddly self. he'd be perfectly within his rights to never trust a human again but he's so good.

This kitty is so fucking sweet, he's never bit or scratched anyone no matter how much you bother him. I can't picture how anyone could hurt him. He was hiding under the bathtub and roommate started nailing boards over the gap before i found him so he'd have been trapped under there. It was a day or two he was hiding and he hadn't made a sound so i think roommate thought kitty died under there. I found him lying in his litter box covered in piss with blood all over :(

Well. Cats need to live, obviously. They are innocent creatures who are thrust into the world unknowing what they do.
People? Meh. Some go bad no matter what they are taught. The learning. The knowledge. For all the wonders the human brain affords, they still choose to torture small animals. The lack of empathy and ignorance of moral ideals. Something doesn't stick despite all the resources they are given. Fuck'em up if you have to. It's really no loss. No one will grieve.

@1,111,767 (Kook !!rcSrAtaAC) > We are supposed to be keeping residents in their rooms, but not by force.
That's like the best (and most maddening) part. You have to be a cop, but without the recourse to just body-slamming people into submission. You just have convince people they need to do what you want them to do. It's kinda like sales, only less creepy.
You have to use psychology and just talk everyone down from the stupid they're about to do by being their friend or convincing them of their best interests or appealing to their needs or better nature. It's great practice for life. When I was younger man, I did that with younger, mentally unstable people. Honestly, I feel like a mentally unstable person every day. Maybe that's why it worked. I was talking to them on their level.
I bet you could talk to an old person like an old person in a way that makes them see the world your way. I have faith in you Kook.

I wasn't listening to it or discussing it or doing anything exceptional in the dream though. It probably came from a silly discussion with a friend as we were walking through a grocery store amusing ourselves by doing bad celebrity impressions while reading product labels. I think in the dream I tried to do a little Walken-esque vocal inflection as I said something like "I am the that which has to... be!" as I tried to a silly dream impression of Walken reading Sartre.
My gateway to Sartre was mostly his plays, fiction, and the trilogy he wrote about being a prisoner of war in WWII. Some of his shorter philosophical works are easier for me to digest. I do have an old Hazel Barnes English translation of Being and Nothingness on the shelf that has been following me around for years. I've been through it, but mostly in fits and starts. One day, I keep telling myself, I'll the read the whole fucking thing in one go without getting distracted and craving a good novel after only a few hundred pages of dense philosophical writing. Although if I ever find a Walken audiobook version, I will dive into that book and read along grinning like a maniac. That would be just the motivation I need.

You've pretty much just summed up the philosophy of some home beer brewing circles, but for weed. I've never heard of a guy growing his own personal strain of hops in his closet, but I wouldn't be shocked if it was happening. Personally, I'd love to see this trend extend to coffee.

Heck yeah. Buddy who did my taxes said the first year or two out of school it's common to get a nice tax refund. Definitely worth the $50 to get someone else to do the paperwork though.

Dude that would be really cool if coffee became more widely available to grow, apparently good coffee needs really specific growing conditions though.
And you don't know people making their own hops? Afaik microbrewing is kinda a growing trend, a few of my friends have made a couple different brews

Also: built a bunny cage so we can with with the bun and hang out, work is slow as fuck, and I haven't smoked cigarettes in a while. I switched to a vape but I'm getting tired of that crap too, so hopefully I'll be nicotine free this year or next

I just heard that recently and it blew me away. I figured it was just a stoner thing. I went to school with a bunch of crazy hippies who would smoke weed, grow weed, talk about weed, read about weed, and clip stories out of High Times magazine about some amazing new cross of whatever new strains.
I just remember wishing that there were coffee growers who had stories about some new coffee plant they raised in their basement that was blue and had caffeine crystals forming on the leaves or some crazy shit. I was never really interested in marijuana, and I'm not terribly discerning about alcohol beyond a few basic preferences. I want to join in the fun though. Those people who work to cultivate their own plants seem really interested and passionate about their craft. I feel like I could probably get interested in coffee.

it's a lot harder to grow coffee. climate and soil and roasting have more of an effect on the beans than phenotypes and cross-breeding. Most horticultural communities are similarly passionate when there's a plant to have fun with. pot is just relatively easy to grow and hybridize. like dogs

You're right. All the obsessive coffee people focus on soil pH, geography, and roasting practices. And civets for some reason.
> pot is just relatively easy to grow and hybridize. like dogs
Pot growers are so much more chill than dog breeders.

We've found out that a few facilities in my county have been hiding Corona cases. So now they might bring in the National Guard to get everything under control
