Everyone's favoarite repairman, Loius Rossman, comments on a company that managed to repair a lot of ventilators in one day when the manufacturer said they could do in in 30 days https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uzJFhY6iuY0
In the comments, someone mention the MIT open source ventilator, which is a set of plans that lets anyone freely manufacture a ventilator (given they have manufacturing equipment)

yes here they are having issues with the company that produces a liquid needed for testing which can't produce enough and they won't release their recipe so it could just be produced in the test labs.

there are public recipes for this required goop but their machines only take the specific goop that only they make for some reasons that weren't thoroughly explained
