100% success rate when you add azithromycin. The problem seems to be that Hydroxychloroquine is cheap and out of patent so generic versions are available. I guess that's why the media is attacking it, because the solution is supposed to be expensive and patented.

Azithromycin's patent expired (in the US) at least in 2005.

Are you going to ignore the doctors with hundreds of patients successfully treated, and the French clinical trial success because your television told you orange man bad?

@1,106,598 (C) > the doctors with hundreds of patients successfully treated
What are doctors treating hundreds of patients with successfully? The few clinical studies of hydroxychloroquine and/or azithromycin don't add up to hundreds of anything. The French trial was like five people.
The handful of trials that came out recently did find a reduced viral load in patients. It certainly helps recovery but that isn't a cure. Results of some hydroxychloroquine trials don't even differ from control. It would be great if there were hard data indicating that it worked reliably, but that evidence isn't there yet.
If you know of a drug that has treated hundreds of cases successfully, then you should probably tell someone.

It's called the Trump pill, the French trial is 80 patients, they were cured in 6 days, and it's now approved in France. It's also FDA approved now too.

@1,106,619 (C) > the French trial is 80 patients, they were cured in 6 days
LOL This trial?
Clinical course: The majority (65/80, 81.3%) of patients had favourable outcome and were discharged from our unit at the time of writing with low NEWS scores (61/65, 93.8%). Only 15% required oxygen therapy. Three patients were transferred to the ICU, of whom two improved and were then returned to the ID ward. One 74 year-old patient was still in ICU at the time of writing. Finally, one 86 year-old patient who was not transferred to the ICU, died in the ID ward.
Not a cure, but most of these patients recovered. Unfortunately, there was no control group to compare anyone's progress to, so there is no way to show that these results are even the result the hydroxychloroquine/azithromycin treatment and not just normal progress of patients under medical supervision. This group had a ten day treatment regimen, not six days.
The first trial involved 42 patients, six of which were dropped from the data because three were moved to intensive care, one became ill from the drug, one left, and one died. There were only five patients left in the hydroxychloroquine/azithromycin treatment group at the end, but they all recovered. This treatment was measured over six days.
> it's now approved in France. It's also FDA approved now too.
Both drugs have been approved for a long time and still are, just not approved to treat COVID-19.
So five people from a problematic trial and 80 people from a group not measured against a control. Still not hundreds of cases let alone hundreds of successfully treated cases. Plus you're not even being consistent with making up your details about treatment length and success rate.
