Instead of criticizing Trump and getting the whole thing wrong, the media should be educating people on that difference, which is this:
Chloroquine is an old malaria medication that stopped being used around 1940. Hydroxychloroquine is almost the same chemical compound except it has an extra Oxygen atom. It replaced Chloroquine because it had fewer horrible side effects. Its most important use is in treating autoimmune diseases, which is why it might be effective against Covid-19. The virus can infect white blood cells, causing them to start attacking each other. It is known that Hydroxychloroquine is effective at disrupting this action in other diseases such as lupus and rheumatoid arthritis.
Those two fucking idiots, to whom you are presumably referring, ingested Chloroquine Phosphate, in its algae killing fish tank cleaner form.
