Topic: Maybe this pandemic will lower housing prices

Owners of AirBNBs (which are usually not their primary residence and are often illegal) can't get customers. A lot of them are overleveraged. I imagine loads will end up defaulting on their mortgages and free up condos and apartments. Housing is ridiculously expensive in places like Toronto and Vancouver. The vacancy rate in Montreal is like under 2%. Hopefully we'll see rents fall and vacancy rates rise. Silver lining?

Yeah I think it will. I'm also hoping it lowers narrowboat prices... but for how long. If you're in a position to buy it'll need to be soon after we get back to normal. In a few years prices will return to how they are now

Eh, i don't want to be tied down to a property and i dont want the responsibility of fixing issues with the place. I don't mind renting.

Nah
I really don't want to own a property. Massive pain in the ass compared to renting. And when I'm paying $350 for rent and utilities, why would I want to?
