Burqa season is year round. It disturbs me a bit that you are so pro burqa, as I see it as a form of oppression

Burqas make passing a lot easier. Schwarzenegger could pass in a burqa.

Why is a hijab worse than niqab or burqa? It’s just a headscarf and even Americans used to wear ones similar to them.

Yeah, in the Middle East that’s a big problem, but in the West it seems to not be taken too seriously. There is a girl at my college who wears one but she wears it really loose fitting.

I dunno about demonizing the clothing article because some people use as a tool of oppression. Saudi women aren't (until recently iirc) allowed to drive, but you wouldn't find it disturbing to make these comments about having a chauffeur. The women must dress very modestly in addition to the hijab, but you aren't similarly disturbed by women choosing to dress modestly sans hijab.

You think it makes sense to compare a chauffeur to a hijab? It really doesnt
A hijabs's first use is to oppress, you can't say that of a driver

Yes. Men must wear them at all times, women whilst in the temple and older women wear head coverings at all times

Did this idea come from the guy part of your brain?
1. Men had to create a clothing item to ward off women raped by other men
2. Women get beaten, disowned, raped, arrested, etc for not wearing it
3. The clothing item still doesn't prevent rape
How is that not oppression?

The idea came from what was written in all of the books I read about Islam including a study Qur’an. Plus I never said it’s not used as a tool of oppression.

Sounds like a lapsed Muslim, or one who grew up with the faith but never really got into it. Not everyone who identifies as Christian goes to church regularly or prays often.

You said "not really a Muslim", like it was a binary thing and they're either in it or not. I was pointing out it's not really that clear-cut, and that a religion that's presumably more familiar to you does the same thing.

I know what non-religiosity is, I don’t need it explained to me like a little kid ie Catherine tyvm
I understand the concept of lapsed, non practice yadda yadda shades of grey. You don’t need to try and debate/educate me on it. Take posting less seriously is all I’m saying
