I remember when we has gas station attendants in my state. Far as I know it was voluntary for the customer though. I saw them at a lot of places when I was a child. There haven't been any here for a few decades now. EXXON were the last remaining ones.

It was called Full- Service, you could either pull alongside a FS pump or self- service pump.
Mostly ladies used the FS as I recall.
Only 3 states require stations to have an employee pump gas today and Oregon is supposed to phase it out very soon I believe.

All I really have to do, is work the buttons. People have asked if I wanted them to fill their own gas jugs, but no one has asked specifically to pump their own gas. I wouldn't mind though, apparently it's common practice for people with "classic" or "show" cars to pump their own gas, but I haven't encountered any yet.
I try not to let folks wait more than a few moments if I can help it. Except the propane, I wait for folk to bring out a tank because it's on the other side of the lot and folks randomly park there, pull through there, and otherwise loiter on that side, so it's easier to wait.

I sent out my CV to the firms i worked at last year. One already responded saying there's a lot of uncertainty due to the virus but they will probably return to a site i worked at last year and they'd like to have me there. It's prehistoric too, which is what i prefer. My friend is coordinator at another firm and he'll hire me back again this year too. I filled out my EI application today too.

The panic buying continues. The supermarket now has hand sanitiser out front to use on baskets and trolleys, as well as tape on the floor at checkouts so people keep their distance.

I think i may have had it. Not sure but being sick for two or three weeks with a high fever and some difficulty breathing and heavy fatigue...coughing so hard/long it made me throw up...digestive problems...i dunno it wasn't normal.

I'm not sure! They've set up "screening stations", you call 811 and they give you an appointment, not sure how many people get actually tested. I wasn't feeling so bad as to go to hospital so i just stayed inside rather than expose others or get myself more exposed.
