It is really badass. It has leather on the bag and bottom for protection and stability. I am a longtime Saddleback fan and customer.

i saw the fat leather back and bottom. that's phat. canvas alone lasts forever, this bag will last for generations! bequeath it to me upon your death please, thanks. I don't want to have to fight over this.

Back on the saddleback schtick? What happened to the last one you bought?

Yes, I am, but why does that lead you to inquire about a bag I bought literally a decade ago, before I even went to China?

Because it has a 100 year warranty and as you claim it is very rugged. I was wondering if it had already worn out. Why are you so defensive?

lol ok fair enough. The leather one is great for many applications. However, it is a bit heavy for everyday work, so I wanted something a bit lighter yet still rugged to take to work with me.

I don't understand the trend of expensive brand-new items which are made to look worn.

It does not look worn when it is new. It develops that patina as you used it over the years. When you get it new, it looks new.

All sorts of shit. I mean, leather is tougher and thicker than canvas, and provides better padding.
chill dog !!81dzJNNYL replied with this 6 years ago, 2 minutes later, 1 hour after the original post[^][v]#1,097,514
@previous (Saddleback™ !eQGwF5dE62)
Yes, but what are you bringing with you that requires such padding? A normal backpacking/camping bag has been totally sufficient for all my international trips

A messenger bag is a poor choice for a hiking bag tbh, strains your body much more than a backpack

I used to exclusively use messenger bags. Backpacks are much easier on the shoulders and back, although i prefer the look of messenger bags and use them when i don't have too much to carry or need frequent access
