You get little shots of the allergen (presumably you take allergy meds at the same time) so your body stops reacting! It takes a long time. At first you get shots daily or three times a week, after a few months you can go down to weekly, eventually monthly.

What if the treatment turns out to be getting an antihistamine shot before being handed a basket of kittens? Then you would have to thoroughly fuzzle all the kittens and play with them before leaving. That sounds awesome. You can't risk missing out on something like that.

Let me add this - Once upon a time I used to get colds and the flu multiple times a year. Then back in my married days while on a backpacking trip with my wife we spent time with a couple we met on the trail. When morning came and we were sharing breakfast stuff together the gal whipped out a huge number of vitamins and I mean like 12 pills of various whatevers.
Back at home my wife hit UCLA Med library and researched various vitamins and put both of us on a plan - Maybe 6 or 7 pills and some twice daily - Odd thing is Colds and Flu no longer a problem.
I have added items to help make my HDL/LDL ratio MUCH better (Diet and exercise is the key way I do that) Yet the addition of supplements makes my blood stream as pure as a virgins kiss.
I have been flu free for about two decades now - Did have a mild cold last year. One cold in two decades or MORE - Anyway please look into how to boost your immune system. Nothing to lose for some science research by a scientist.
Note this simple image does not contain Vitamin C I take 1000 MG's in morning/breakfast and with dinner - Many books say this is too much many say it's not enough - I figure the two oranges I eat daily help add more and I love Red Bell Peppers which have wayyyy more C Than an orange
