You shouldn't vote for someone because of one issue but criminalizing soft drugs is incredibly stupid and destructive and needs to end asap.

Because they are harmless (or at least less harmful than many legal substances), cause prison overpopulation, take away police time from real crimes and soft drugs are fun

We already have a soft drug. It’s called alcohol. It’s legal, you can pass a drug test if you’re on it, and it doesn’t make you lazy.

You mentioned hippies in the title.

Alcohol is way more addictive and damaging than any softdrug lol. i don't understand where you get the idea that an alcohol addiction won't make you lazy.

If you are ok with alcohol being legal then it would be extremely hypocritical to want soft drugs banned. Why do you hate personal liberties?

An alcohol addiction won’t make you lazy as in “I wanna sit on my couch all day eating”. Places where pot is legal are junky and attract homeless people. Those places have kids on the “soft drug” which will soon feel like no drug, and they’ll want hard drugs and it’s setting them up for failure. This has nothing to do with “hating personal liberties”. It has more to do with the hate for something that’s numbing people’s minds to where they think that there are rainbows in the sky when there’s a thunderstorm. People driving 15 mph under the speed limit. People constantly trying to get other people to try their new “strain”. If they get pulled over because they forgot they were driving and ran a stop sign, there’s no way to prove that they were intoxicated.

Yes it does

Source?
> Those places have kids on the “soft drug” which will soon feel like no drug, and they’ll want hard drugs and it’s setting them up for failure.
Why would this not occur with alcohol which is actually addictive?
> This has nothing to do with “hating personal liberties”.
Yes it does, banning someone from doing something that only affects them is taking away a personal liberty.
> It has more to do with the hate for something that’s numbing people’s minds to where they think that there are rainbows in the sky when there’s a thunderstorm.
Luckily alcohol has great short and long term effects on the brain
> People driving 15 mph under the speed limit.
Luckily alcohol doesn't impede driving skills at all!
> People constantly trying to get other people to try their new “strain”.
Luckily no companies are trying to get people hooked on new alcoholic beverages ever! Also you know strain is a regular botanical term right?
> If they get pulled over because they forgot they were driving and ran a stop sign, there’s no way to prove that they were intoxicated.

Well besides a drug test or a slightly perceptive cop

Alcohol doesn’t give you the munchies. You might get hungry but you won’t lose the feeling of not feeling full. Being full while high makes you incredibly lazy.

Los Angeles. Amsterdam

Both are addictive. People are constantly killing and robbing people over marijuana. Sounds like addiction to me. Also, alcohol is naturally harder to get ahold of for kids.
> >This has nothing to do with “hating personal liberties”.

So in your sense, you’d like all drugs legalized. Of course because just pot wasn’t enough, so you’d like to venture out.
> >It has more to do with the hate for something that’s numbing people’s minds to where they think that there are rainbows in the sky when there’s a thunderstorm.

This thread isn’t about alcohol but sure alcohol can be great for short and long term effects on the brain.
> >People driving 15 mph under the speed limit.
> Luckily alcohol doesn't impede driving skills at all!
Once again, this about cannabis, not alcohol but potheads driving under the limit makes other people with actual things to do late for stuff like work and also causes road rage.
> >People constantly trying to get other people to try their new “strain”.
> Luckily no companies are trying to get people hooked on new alcoholic beverages ever! Also you know strain is a regular botanical term right?
Alcohol, alcohol, alcohol. Let’s hide the many cons of legalizing marijuana by mentioning alcohol.
> >If they get pulled over because they forgot they were driving and ran a stop sign, there’s no way to prove that they were intoxicated.
>
> Well besides a drug test or a slightly perceptive cop
Yeah, because cops should totally pull you over and tell you to piss in a cup to test you only to not even know if you’re actually high at the moment since marijuana stays in your system for so long.

Oh, so you're problem wasn't with sitting on a couch all day, it's with eating whilst doing that.
Does LA have a high homelessness rate compared to a similar city with illegal weed? The Netherlands has a very low one, so idk why you mention Amsterdam.
Weed isn't physically addictive and even the slightest amount of googling (or reading your post history!) will show you how difficult quitting drink is.
I'd like to not have harmless things made illegal because that's inane.
Ok so weed should be illegal because someone might get late for their appointment but alcohol (which caused a third of traffic related death in the us) is fine because why?

I'm sure thc breathalysers are in development. Not sure how this pertains to legalising weed though, is this not the current situation? It's not like banning it has actually prevented anyone from getting it

Risked what? It's not like you smoke weed once and then get addicted like it's krokodil or meth or something. It's just a relaxation drug. God.

Krokodil, meth, and god all have nothing to do with the fact that marijuana is indeed addictive and mind numbing. You haven’t done it enough, apparently. I’ve done it before. I hung with guys(that ended up robbing me of my weed). They’d always get high and while high, their hobby was getting me to drive them to the dealer’s house to buy MORE weed while we were already high. This was peer pressure on my end. Something I’ll never endure again.

I think the fact that people saying marijuana isn’t addictive is what’s stopping it from being fully legal. I won’t deny that alcohol and tobacco are addictive because they surely are but unlike marijuana, it’s legal everywhere. The reason why it’s legal is because the users agree that they’re addictive and the government loves that because that means more money. There’s a lot of money generating off of people addicted to these alcohol and tobacco . If people want weed legalized so much, why not go about pretending that it is actually addictive? It is the actual truth and it could get marijuana legalized everywhere, which I don’t care for.

Comparing cannabis with those things? Well, there’s a huge difference. You don’t smoke or ingest video games, sugar, or coffee for a high. Coffee wakes you up a little, yeah but it doesn’t go into the category with marijuana at all because it makes you alert and energized.
> But I've never seen a drunk argue that alcohol is better than weed! Well before this thread
I’m sure of that and it’s because the potheads are the ones always saying “We’re so much better. We can wake and bake and not be frowned upon. People that drink before noon are alcoholics “!

At the end of the day, you’re still polluting your mind with a plant that is a mild poison.
