That story's from 9 months ago and he's since walked it back. Every once in a while Trump throws red meat to his base by suggesting he'll become the dictator they crave (these are the same people who claim to be ardent defenders of 'freedom' and 'small government' remember). Trump is in many ways an idiot but in one politically vital way he's a bona fide savant: he knows how to pander to stupid people. Democrats suggest a little gun control? "THE COMMUNISTS WANT TO CRAP ON OUR BEAUTIFUL CONSTITUTION!" Yet he'll routinely tweet out that he's planning to stay in office beyond a 2nd term because an angry mob demands it and it never occurs to his fans that that's about as unconstitutional as it gets.
