The American tax system fascinates me. Once a year, they have to sit down and send a form to the government saying how much they've earned, and sometimes they randomly get money back.
I don't want to understand it, though. Then it would lose its mystique.

Basically we guess how much we owe the government. Then the government says "no you owe us more" or "actually you owe us less". Always keeps you on your toes!

A guy obsessed with an old man making that much money is laughable. I don’t know why, it just is. Mostly unbelievable, though.

One wood have to be Buttfucking stoooooopid as all fuck to let the US Gov hold $8000 until one asks for a refund.
The quarterly stock market gains on say $2000 in any quarter - For instance taking the full year of 2019 into account which is the year You the Buttfucker blew you wad on your boyfriends Asshole - S&P 500’s 31.5 % return. Even Hedge funds raked in 11% for their customers.
31.5% on $8000 but will let the ButtFucker figured out his losses.

• It’s stupid to hope for a tax refund.
• The S&P 500 averaged a quarterly return of 31.5% (?)
• Several unnamed hedge funds returned 11% during an unnamed interval.
That’s logorrhea!

For instance taking the full year of 2019 into account [...] S&P 500’s 31.5% return.

Employees withhold money from employees salary and forward it to IRS
Self employed as me forward what I expect I will owe IRS
I try my best to end up owing them a small amount - I CRINGE AT THE IDEA I will have my money tied up in a US Gov account earning NOTHING at all on MY MONEY.
That leaves me with how exactly to take that extra money and MAKE MONEY on it - S&P 500’s 31.5% return is just one example
I take pride on doing somewhat better than 31.5% AND YES it is a Gamble - That is what the Stock Market IS - One is gambling - Market has been so very good that well if I told you how good re me - NOT one of you wood believe OR Want to believe it so NO Bragging for me 2DAY
The other day I rote about a meeting where I was going to meet a new PhD employee of Verizon - She from Saudi Arabia and I was curious about lots about her because women engineers from Saudi Arabia are Rare very Rare and I also was curious if she was going to wear an Hijab - She was NOT wearing one for the meeting.
Verizon and Qualcomm jointly have put her up at a class act hotel in La Jolla and tonight she is taking me out to dinner A Business dinner of course and she called about an hour ago to let me No she wood be wearing a Hijab - I think that was a hint for me to at least wear a suite n Tie which I of course Will - Wood have been more casual as the restaurant works well for either case. THIS IS Totally going to be Business where I bill two clients while she picks up the bill because she already insisted on it and has a spanking brand new Verizon Credit card from AMEX -
Early dinner and she is going to take notes and report all back to Verizon peeps
I also fully expect her to teach me some Matt stuff I have been having issues with - She can do Calculus and Matrix equations in her head and that gives me horrid headaches when I try to do it - Can do to completion but HORRID JUST ARWFUL Headaches
So Ya'all have fun while I am gone - Actually I leave at Noon 2Morrow for New Orleans Mardi Gras so MC will be Syntax Error Free from Fri to just B4 Fat Tuesday next week
Tis Good/Great to have a Key Client who is now Headquarter rite next to New Orleans n did you No they have 'Star in their name - I was invited to be there for FatTuesday but am committed to Mardi Gras FatTuesday here in SD proper
So leaving ya all with a small past taste of Mardi Gras WHICH is in Progress with Googles Help

No, please don't ruin it. It is a mysterious, unknowable thing. They put paperwork into their government, and money might come out. Magical.
@1,093,249 (Fake anon !ZkUt8arUCU)
Okay, shitposting aside, that sounds like a tricky system to me. As I understand it, in theory all Americans who work are meant to declare their earnings and such to the IRS, because THE IRS can't verify it all themselves. So, what's to stop someone intentionally fudging their numbers a little? Or just lots of people making honest mistakes? Is that a big deal for you guys?
Like, obviously the IRS will notice if anyone does anything too silly, but it seems like there's lots of room for small errors.

Given Trump games the IRS probably the most of all - Perhaps people should just drop any respect for the IRS - Assuming one person in USA does respect that which collects their taxes. Not even in Jesus's day did that happen.
I once gamed the IRS - Actually twice - 1st time to get huge gains for a company so they could grow - Hire lots of people who ended up paying lots to IRS that otherwise wood not have happened - OF COURSE I paid a high price for QUALITY Legal Advice on the How toooos
2nd Time was rite after my divorce where I rote the IRS telling them EXACTLY What I was planning to do re making Gloria Allred a Tool in my tool box of coming out so much more better - IRS got me fined and other stuff like that YET sure enough bottom line was

Unless you have won a 5 figure or more jackpot that is basically guaranteed to be true by the nature of the game. The way the state makes money off the lottery is 99.9% of people spend more than they win.

Yep. I've seen plenty of people go broke trying to win the money just to pay their rent. Don't even seem to realize they probably just should have saved it in the first place.

And then, there0are the people who buy tickets at ordinairy gas stations and win 50,000 or 100,000 or 500,000 and are soon having parties with ounces of toot.
