I'm making a lot more soup these days, and most call for a medium or larger diced/chopped onion, usually with some minced or pressed garlic. It's very time-consuming and I've been trying to figure out a faster way. I see some different techniques from chefs and these techniques looks interesting/doable. Thoughts? Any better suggestions?

It's even harder to chop a Spanish onion efficiently. But Spanish onions are my favorite.
