Iran never did pose a threat to the United States. They might now, after like 50 years of us intervening against them but, like Iraq and Syria, they just want to be left alone to do their Muslim thing in the Middle East.

I think it’s an oil thing. The main reason we care about them spreading their terrorism stuff is because we don’t want them fucking with countries that provide oil. It’s why Saudi and all the rich gulf states hate them. I mean there is always sectarian and racist reasons for Middle East conflicts but a lot of the time it’s just a veneer used to justify wars that are fought because of energy markets.
