Both as cold as cold can be. Yet I lived/worked in Siberia for 6 months in the DEAD DEAD of winter and LOVED it and -43 was par for the course
Only real downside was daily dressing and undressing - Took forever to put stuff on and those Boots damn those heavy as all fuck boots - Each trip to Siberia I wood buy a new pair and leave them as gifts to the drivers because just the weight of those boots were not worth carrying to my next destination

I fucking hate being cold. And going anywhere in the winter sucks because you freeze outside then start sweating when you get on the metro or in a shop then your sweat freezes when you go outside again and ugh

For skiing Canada is one great place to be. And in British Columbia the access to SeaFood and Shell Fish while on a mountain top is just AMAZING.
Canadians are also far more friendly than the average American of USA
