Holy shit! They actually let Nyla Rose win a match. Doesn’t really matter since they already fucked her up by having her lose to skinny petite Japanese women. Plus she sort of sucks on her own and is green as fuuuuuuck.
She’s a liability because she doesn’t know what the fuck she’s doing and could easily injury somebody. Plus she’s unauthentic as fuck and gets winded too easy. And thanks to AEW tracking win/loss records I can’t even take her seriously as a beast in their women’s division when she keeps losing to people she should be “squashing.”
But god damn, I have never thought I’d see her win a title in this promotion.

In principle I agree with your point. It could be an unfair advantage. However, I decided to look into the research on the matter, and saw it's actually not as settled as you might assume:
As a meta-review (study of several other studies) says:
Currently, there is no direct or consistent research suggesting transgender female individuals (or male individuals) have an athletic advantage at any stage of their transition (e.g. cross-sex hormones, gender-confirming surgery) and, therefore, competitive sport policies that place restrictions on transgender people need to be considered and potentially revised.
I'd like to underline that I'm not necessarily agreeing that all trans people regardless of how much they've transitioned should immediately be allowed into any gender-segregated sport. It just seems like there's indication that it might be acceptable in many cases.

Yeah, unfortunately there really aren't many high-quality studies available. Look at the studies that review is analysing — all but two are interview-based (the strongest being Gooren and Bunck, and that's from 2004). One (Young men: gendered subjectivities and the physically active body) is just a discussion based on an interview of two transmen. And those are the 8 that passed the review's eligibility criteria.
To arrive at conclusion about the adequacy of the IOC (2015) guidelines, both scientific and normative analysis is required. The science section has shown that elite cis-men athletes have a performance advantage in almost all sports due to their higher testosterone levels, and other aspects of male physiology. Extrapolating from this it is plausible that transwomen retain some of that advantage. We acknowledge that these findings rest on extrapolations from male physiology, and encourage further specific scientific investigation regarding elite transwomen athletes. The normative section has shown that while inclusion is an important principle of sport, including elite sport, inclusion does not outweigh the importance of fairness for cis-women athletes—the performance advantage likely held by transwomen is not a ‘tolerable unfairness’. This is not an attempt to exclude transwomen from elite sport. Instead, we conclude that it is important to both extend and celebrate diversity, while maintaining fairness for cis-women in sport. To be simultaneously inclusive and fair at the elite level the male/ female binary must be discarded in favour of a more nuanced approach. We conclude that the gender binary in sport has perhaps had its day.

Where does the strength come from though? HRT would reduce the muscle mass and if they are on testosterone blockers (as they should since that's standard) then shouldn't this make it harder to build mass? If not then fucking Chyna wouldn't have had to take testosterone to build herself up.

A very interesting paper, thanks for bringing it to my attention. The authors show a good grasp of the science involved and the ethical issues around this. Skimming it made me nostalgic for my psychology days, and when I used to argue about it on Minichan.
In summary, assumption 1 is true—testosterone provides an all-purpose benefit in almost all sports. Assumption 2 is false. A transwoman athlete with testosterone levels under 10nmol/L for 1 year will retain at least some of the physiological parame-
ters that underpin athletic performance. This, coupled with the fact that transwomen athletes are allowed to compete with more
than five times the testosterone level of a cis-woman, suggests transwomen have a performance advantage.
(Authors are discussing possible solutions)
Further restrict the IOC’s eligibility criteria for transwomen, by setting the maximum testosterone to a lower level. This approach is problematic because physical harm may result from requiring a transwoman to reduce her testosterone levels further. Further, it would not account for the performance advantage transwomen retain from earlier male physiology.
So, this is fairly compelling evidence that there is, at least usually, an innate advantage regardless of testosterone.
If this is indeed accurate, then I can accept the research's conclusions, as sad as it might be for trans athletes who work just as hard as their cis counterparts. Ethically speaking, they should have some place in professional sports, even of they can't always take records or compete in certain competitions and such.
I liked their suggestion of breaking down gender barriers in sports, though, which could be a way forward. I'm not sure what exactly the best way for that to work would be, but it could help.

You know wrestlers can also be doing it as part of character. Eric Bischoff, a former wrestling promoter, is famous for saying, "Controversy Creates Cash." This is true in the wrestling business. This is also why he lead the former World Championship Wrestling to great success for 81 consecutive weeks. There is a reason why the current era in wrestling is called "the reality era" because the lines between backstage politics and kayfabe are blurring. This is why it's hard to decipher if something a wrestler says is intentionally done to generate heat or if they are legitimately an asshole. There is even an industry term called "X-Pac heat" in which people not only hate the character and their work but the person as well. It's named after the ring name for Sean Waltman.
And there is another controversial figure in wrestling today. She isn't trans, but many people got on her for bullying and calling people the N-word. Her name is Tessa Blanchard. In fact, in spirit of Eric Bischoff, booking a match between Tessa Blanchard and Nyla Rose where both of them are allowed complete creative freedom would likely trigger so much butthurt from all sides that it could prove very profitable.
TESSA BLANCHARD (on stage)

That would probably be on her unless she rehearsed lines for the character role. Then it would be on whomever it was that wrote the line. AEW will be fucking fools if they don't cash in on this controversy. This is ripe for a storyline that hasn't been seen since the days of the Attitude Era in the mid-to-late nineties.
Even Val Venis tweeted about this even though it's kind of silly to complain about 'unfair advantage' in a 'sport' that is predetermined. Though I have a feeling he was being facetious.

TESSA BLANCHARD
Sean, I don't need you defending me when I became the first woman to hold the Impact Wrestling world championship.
And after I prove myself against that manbeast, Nyla Rose, maybe I'll challenge you.
SEAN MORLEY
Hello biological lady... you know the Big Lebowski doesn't fight women. The Big Lebowski's biology wouldn't allow for that.
Now you're impressive, but you are only pushing your luck because all of the men you faced. They were nothing like me.
TESSA BLANCHARD
Nothing like you? I'm not some weak little girl like some diva from the past. I am the world champion.
How about I come down there and show you just what this cisgirl can do?
TESSA BLANCHARD drops the mic and proceeds to walk
toward the ring.
SEAN MORLEY is unscathed.
SEAN MORLEY
Why don't you open those fists and allow the Big Lebowski to enter your heart?
TESSA BLANCHARD charges at SEAN MORLEY with a crossbody
followed excessive punches to the head.
JIM ROSS
Bah god, bah god, Tessa Blanchard is taking it to Sean Morley! She's unafraid! She's unafraid! She means business! She means
business!
NYLA ROSE rushes down to the ring and comes to the aid of TESSA BLANCHARD.
JIM ROSS
That's Nyla Rose! And she's helping Tessa Blanchard!
The two of them remove SEAN MORLEY from the ring and proceed to exchange looks at one another.
SEAN MORLEY looks at the two of them while he clutches his jaw and walks toward the entrance way.
