At least 1,032 people were put to death around the world in 2016 according to research by Amnesty. 23 countries executed people last year, and just four of them account for 87% of global executions. These statistics exclude China, where execution numbers are a state secret. It is likely that China executes thousands of people each year, meaning the true number of executions worldwide is at least double the recorded total.

On the other hand

Estimated number of deaths this year as on Wednesday, February 12, 2020

65,187,01

Our Earth
It has limited resources and a fragile environment. The explosion of the human population in the last 200 years has been rapidly depleting the world of its resources and causing global warming. We were 1 billion in 1820, 2 billion in 1930, 3 billion in 1960, 4 billion in 1974, 5 billion in 1988, and 6 billion in 2000.

Currently 75-80 million people are added every year and only 56 million people die. At the current rate we will double the world population every 35 years.

So bottom line as hard as it may be to stomach: 1,032 people were put to death around the world in 2016 according to research by Amnesty
Chump Change.
