Topic: How come when people talk about Evolution they always refer to it like some sort of God?

Anonymous A started this discussion 6 years ago #96,545

How come it seems like whenever somebody mentions evolution or natural selection they always talk about it as if it's still some sort of God controlling things or controlling certain outcomes?

Like I hear mostly atheists talk about this shit but they fail to realize just how ironic they are being whenever they say shit like "No, Evolution put that there."

I'll set the scene for you.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------

A CHRISTIAN is talking to a couple in the hospital awaiting the birth of their child.
The ATHIEST is conversing with his wife about if they should get their new baby circumcised.

CHRISTIAN
I wouldn't do it. God put that there for a reason.

The ATHEIST hesitates thinking if he should chime in and say something.

ATHEIST
No, Evolution and Natural Selection put that there.

               Nothing is resolved.

> God put that there for a reason.

Wonders if God gave people cancer and heart troubles and Diabetes for a reason as well.

This same God created Serial Killers and Pedophiles.

Quality God. I prefer the Roman and Greek Gods myself.

God is an author and we’re their characters. Without hardship and obstacles you’ll have a boring character and a boring story.

I've honestly never heard anyone make an evolutionary case for or against circumcision. That would be as bizarre as making an evolutionary case against shaving, which I've also never heard anyone put forth.

The God of the Bible does have some pretty strong opinions about foreskins and shaving though.

No different from a human author writing about child rape.

Mankind has the power of a god, one might say?
