I'd like to interject for a moment, what you are reffering to as ubuntu is in fact ubuntu with gnome 2 and unity, Ubuntu GNU/Unity, or as I've recently taken to call it Ubuntu GNU+Unity. What you are referring to as Gnubuntu is, in fact, GNU 3 + Ubuntu.

I have been playing (evaluation) of a HP device that runs Linux O/S and it runs inside Win environment so Won yes Won!!!! has all the features of Windows like Windows Media Player but its running on Linux!!!
2Note HP says all desktops from HP are now shipping with this very same O/S ( eye have not verified such )

Notice the unique solution HP Used. Anyone else using any version of Linux does not have Windows Media Player or for that matter a mass of other Win applications. HP trying 2 set itself outside of the rush to Apple I Pad devices or Android - Well eye 4 one wonder how much HP is saving with the neat deal they cut with MicroShit to still have Windows but not run it as O/S

One might note that Google stopped using Windows a couple of years ago. Me? Three UNIX Computers for work and all Sun.
I can only play off line with Linux nor have much tyme these days 2 play buttttt wood have more tyme IF I could go desktop with Linux.

I'd just like to interject for a moment. What you're referring to as Linux, is in fact, GNU/Linux, or as I've recently taken to calling it, GNU plus Linux. Linux is not an operating system unto itself, but rather another free component of a fully functioning GNU system made useful by the GNU corelibs, shell utilities and vital system components comprising a full OS as defined by POSIX.

What kind of asshole would use Windows Media Player over something like VLC anyhow?
The only reason anyone ever used that piece of shit in the first place is because it was there. I guess people are too stupid or lazy to replace it with something better.
The real difference between Ubuntu and Debian is this: When you post a question in an online forum, the Ubuntu people answer the question and help you get your system working again. The Debian people tell you you're not smart enough to run Linux and too stop breaking their perfect OS.
