I put up with slurs from the buzzard for years. But coming here to see ten new "lol poop" threads, random half-threatening walls of text aimed at actually decent users, a million reports because Matt said x and Syntax replied with y, or because Bert got angry at a Syntax impersonator, or some other nonsense, does get tiring.
Having said that, I don't feel that permabans are in keeping with the Love Foræ's spirit (unless for something truly egregious) and I'd be far more inclined to ban in stages — two weeks, a month, two months, three — and then think about extending it indefinitely.

If Matt had written like this about food, or indeed about anything, during his chan/forum career, he would have been warmly received and appreciated as a well-loved bon vivant. He comes off as intelligent, well read and cultured.
