Topic: FAO: Y'all. Question about Nvidea Geforce 3D Vision Glasses
Anonymous A started this discussion 15 years ago#9,635
I have a 3d capable monitor and a 3d capable video card. Should I put down the extra $130 for Nvidea Geforce 3D Vision Glasses? Does anyone have any experience with this?

Is your 3D monitor even compatible with the 3D Vision system?

3D sucks imo. Gives me a headache at the theaters. I wouldn't, even if I had the ability, watch 3D at home. Probably not helpful in answering your specific question about the nvidea glasses, but generally speaking I am no fan of 3D.
But, if you enjoy it then try them out, I bet you can return them if it sucks.

I might just do exactly that, see how I like it. Didn't even think of it for some reason. Thanks!

If you have the money, then go for it.

I would have went for the 3D projector you could use circular polarization with.
Active-Shutter glasses are a bitch, if you aren't meticulous with how you take care of them, fingerprints can ruin the lenses and the shutter.
If your monitor is less than 240hz you will see flicker and refresh lag.
That being said, with durability and flicker aside. Active shutter is great for viewing the entire color spectrum, removing most of the problems Circular and Linear polarization, plus it makes the 3D look more realistic.

From what I gathered from the nvidea site 120hz is just perfect for proper 3d experience, that being said I didn't even realize that my monitor/video card were 3d capable when I bought them, and I didn't buy them for this. I only just dicovered it lol
Thank you for the heads up, however. Any other tidbits of information I should know?

The proper refresh rate should be 120hz for each eye, or else you will notice the lag.

I have, in the cinema. The 3d there wasn't amazing, but the technology has improved since then, and the technology used here is different (I think)
