There are exceptions but it seems like everyone here has some form of depression that forces them to give up on their goals, short-term and/or long-term.

Sorry I think it's a generation thing. Back in my day "gay" just meant "bad". Everyone used the word that way in the late '90s-early '00s. Maybe it cums down to so few having any means of self support - Failure to get an education that allows financial freedom - DOES NOT Require a Degree from a school - ON TC their is Omen who is a master carpenter with more business then he can handle - He posts photos of his art in wood - He builds Staircases as in pic - Loves the work he does and of course it pays terrific $$
I suspect if one wants to end up loving life one needs some kind of work that one enjoys the 5 days a week or otherwise one might end up wanting to get drunk to get over the hate of the proceeding 5 days and getting all numb because they do not want to think about NEXT WEEK.
The person here that attempted Suicide recently has a terrific education albeit bad parents so SHE had to do it all on her own without parental support and her choices of Men and lots of the Male friends end up as very bad choices - So it does come down to complex factors - One NEEDS GREAT Friends - A job one can look forward to going to work for - Enough Money to have the toys adults desire - AND A support system which can include Social Media - A few great books a Few Great Movies - Lots of Great Music - And Flowers lots of Flowers (Currently I am in Garden Mode) Going OVERBOARD wanting my Spring Flowers NOW NOW NOW - Seeds planted - Seeds Growing - My Basil Farm is PRODUCING A BUMPER Crop currently) Alas I want Fields of FLOWERS NOW - So while the seeds are doing their thing I just spent about $700 making a temporary Environment of Live Living Flowers
