You're misusing scare quotes. They're used to imply doubt about something. Like so:
* "Transgender" allegedly assaulted on subway train, most fake crying I've ever heard.
Implication: transgenderism isn't real and/or victim is not really transgender.
* Transgender allegedly "assaulted" on subway train, most fake crying I've ever heard.
Implication: the assault wasn't real.
* Transgender allegedly assaulted on subway "train", most fake crying I've ever heard.
Implication: subways are not trains.
You get the idea.
Basically you put the scare quotes around the words you doubt. In short, by putting the scare quotes around "allegedly", you're doubting that it was alleged which makes it sound more real. This is akin to using a double negative to emphasize something and is just sloppy and careless.
