Someone with ovaries and a penis is Male? Female? Mentally ill? Please pick exactly one.

No, they are disregarded as a statistical outlier. As a person born with both ovaries and a penis and testicles their doctor can make that decision

0.001% of the population doesn't invalidate 99.999%

So then just admit that your theory is only 99.999% true. *sneeze*

How many genders or categories would you say there are?

Idk! With biological sex people generally fall into either a group that we can classify as male or female. Gender is a lot more fluid. A woman today behaves very differently than a woman 300 years ago did, and yet we classify both of them as one and the same gender. I think generally 95%+ of people are either men or women, but I do not feel like society will collapse if people want to be different and it's permitted.

Yeah I agree. I just don't quite know what those people in the small percentage kind of fall under ? ALTHOUGH I had a friend once who identified as gender fluid. And they would say that sometimes they were male and sometimes they were female. I know the world won't collapse but some people's gender identities dont make sense. (Or don't seem to, to me personally anyway)

I'm very laissez faire socially. Trans people are as much of a threat to society as gay people are (i.e. not a threat). @previous (ftd !Cs02iDB7RA)
Usually they'll adopt the label of trans or queer or whatever term they think fits best. At some level it's just a terminology difference. Queer/trans people buy groceries, go to the movies, ride the bus, etc. just like everyone else. There are distinct differences too of course, but at the end of the day people are just people.

I think Depeche Mode should re-do the song "People are People" but with lyrics reflecting gender/sexuality differences instead of race ?
